Singapore

Singapore, officially the Republic of Singapore, is a sovereign island city-state in maritime Southeast Asia. The name of Singapore is an anglicisation of the native Malay name for the country, Singapura, which was derived from the Sanskrit word for "Lion City".

The city-state in Southeast Asia consists of the island of Singapore and about 54 smaller islands. The main island is linked by a causeway to Johor Baru on the southern tip of the Malay Peninsula.

Singapore is famous for being a global financial center, a shopping paradise, and as a spot for a variety of activities, dining and entertainment.
